In our agriturismo, we produce wine and extra virgin olive oil. In addition, the fresh produce from our garden, grown with passion and respect for nature, is available to our guests, who can enjoy it during their stay for an authentic, zero-km experience.

THE GREEN GOLD OF CASA MARISA

Extra virgin olive oil

Every year, in November, the Anselmi family is dedicated to the production of extra virgin olive oil. The oil produced is derived from olive trees located on the Island of Elba, in the municipality of Portoferraio, in the areas of Schiopparello, Magazzini, and Bagnaia. The olives belong to the Frantoio, Pendolino, Moraiolo, and Leccino cultivars.

In keeping with the oldest traditions, the harvest is done manually after a careful selection of olives at the right level of ripeness. The freshly picked olives, placed in crates, are sent for pressing with cold extraction; all production stages are directly monitored to preserve the natural characteristics of the fruit. The obtained oil is stored in a climate-controlled room inside stainless steel containers. Without undergoing any filtration, it is bottled only just before sale, thus preserving its nutritional and organoleptic qualities intact.

Tasting notes and pairings

Casa Marisa extra virgin olive oil is a harmonious and balanced oil with fruity aromas. Upon tasting, the green olive flavor is immediately noticeable with herbaceous notes. On the palate, it is smooth, with a marked but pleasant bitterness and spiciness, perfectly balanced, finishing with a spicy touch reminiscent of wild grass and unripe almonds.

Good for any use, this oil is especially suitable as a raw dressing. Casa Marisa extra virgin olive oil expresses its full identity and high seasoning power when used on fish appetizers, legume soups, vegetable creams, sliced meats, and roasted meats.
